LAPORTE, TX — A stay-home mom was arrested for letting her children ride their scooters in a cul-du-sac in front of their home. Police say Tammy Cooper was endangering the children because her lawn chair wasn’t close enough to where they were playing. She was handcuffed, put in an orange jumpsuit, and thrown in jail for 18 hours. She has already spent $7,000 trying to defend her case. The children were taken to Child Protective Services and interrogated.

I am outraged. How DARE this mother not allow violent video games and/or nonsensical cartoons do her parenting job for her. How DARE this mother allow her children to indulge in something that doesn’t involve a TV or computer. How DARE she actually have the NERVE to allow her children to go outside and play! Honestly. Some people these days!

No Need for Bushido is an online webcom set in feudal Japan that has been written by Joe Kovell and illustrated by Alex Kolesar since 2002. Ten years later, Alex has found himself wanting more from his art and unable to keep up the comic for free. He plans to take a hiatus and come back to the comic in time once he feels like he is ready again. However, we the fans have been given the chance to do something about this. Joe and Alex have set up a Kickstarter campaign for donations to their cause. If we can raise $30,000 by August 21, they will be able to afford to keep Alex on and keep making comics at the normal pace. However, if we can raise a whopping $50,000 by the same date, Alex will be able to take on the job full time and put up more pages a week than ever before. As with every Kickstarter, there are incentives given out depending on the amount that you donate. You could even have your own cameo and lines as a background character in the comic! 

I strongly urge everyone to check this comic out, I’ve been following it for almost 2 years now and I’ve been a loyal follower checking for the update every Monday. I’d love to see this comic stick around and perhaps even see it become a full time webcomic.
